Sample Itinerary #2

Mark here.  Another way to order our activities.  This incorporates pretty much all the activities that received a vote except for the ones  that just wouldn't work so well for everyone (i.e. Amazing Jake's, Salt River).  Any way we do this we can hit the big ones and still have room for some chillaxin' or more activities.

  1. Guys with kids = goofy golfing! Can you handle so much golfing? Yes, yes you can.

  2. Beat us to the punch! We were in the middle of revising and commenting on the 1st Itinerary for the last hour :) We'll post something soon.

  3. Danny, you silly goose! ;P I think I like the look of this itinerary better. Yes, we're doing a lot of things, but I feel this way we won't get as easily bored. I mean, there's much to see at the science center, but you can make it out and see most everything in just a few hours.

  4. Alright, so I guess its my turn to chime in again. For the moment, Wednesday looks fine.

Thursday - If we are doing golf, we need to select a course and reserve a tee time. Also will need to rent clubs since most dont have them. In the afternoon for the guys, we can do goofy golf and stuff at Golfland. They also have the arcade and lasertag, but the cars dont run on Thursdays. AS for the dinner that night, might want to check with available sitters first. Mesa schools is having their graduation that night and most likely will be a lot of various parties for kids as well. Go to the restaurant topic for my ideas on where to eat.

A couple more ideas for activities involve a little road trip.

Sure these may be cheesy tourist things to do, but we would be doing these things anyhow if we were somewhere else.

As for waterparks, either one are good for me. Whichever works for the most people should be the choice.

  5. Heeyyyy, if you're going goofy golfing, I just found some coupons for stuff at Golfland. Not much, but it can help a bit and it expires the end of June. I'll look through the rest of the booklet and see if there's anything else we might want to utilize.

I personally would like to go to Wet N' Wild 'cause it looks way fun and more exciting than Sunsplash. Sorry Waterloo...

If there's any spaces you guys want filled in, we could maybe try a movie. I've heard "How to Train Your Dragon" is good, and it's around $5 if you go to AMC Grand before noon.

Also, just a thought for Saturday night: since we're going to Lee Lee's to make an exotic dinner (right...?), maybe we could rent some foreign film to watch while we eat? Bollywood (hah)? Something? I mean...there's only so much you can do for a talent/skit night with our relatively small group. We all basically know everyone's talents anyway. Unless we want to film a goofy music video to go along with the skit theme, I'd be up for that.

And Sunday morning. Where are we going to church? I don't really want to go to some random ward that we have no connection to ('cause Gramma and Carol won't be at theirs). That's just...weird...

  6. The blog is not letting me post! I tried to put this up hours ago.

    Suggestions for locations for pics:
-I still think taking them in Tempe would be fun, esp. on Mill Ave. Bridge at sunset = Gorgeous
-There the ever popular Mesa Arts Center (meh)
-There is the Secret Garden at ASU inside the West Hall. Lots of places on campus have some fun artsy pieces.
-A popular thing to do currently is drive out near Queen Valley on the train tracks with vintage suit cases and take pics near the tracks. Or I have heard that people will trip up to Miami since they have the awesome old-school buildings there.

  7. Driving 1+ hours for a picture = lame. Why not around the Temple? (/me ducks from Lachelle throwing a shoe at me for suggesting that)

  8. We could do the adult dinner the night of our pictures, everyone will already be looking nice to go out. I'd rather not go somewhere too overdone, i.e. Mesa Arts Center. But we don't need to get too creative. Simple is good.

I like the ideas of a splash pad or jumpstreet. They have a kid area: http://www.gotjump.com/inflatables

But we will end up going to Tempe splash playground several times over the summer so I'd rather go to somewhere else. And I don't have a problem with driving to downtown Phx more than once while we are on vacation.

We want to go to the Science Center. And it's a place that everyone will enjoy, unlike the children's museum. The adult to child ratio is pretty small with our group. The museum is awesome too, but I'd like to take the boys to the planetarium and to see the ocean movie at the IMAX. But I suppose the Greens could ditch us all and go to the museum.... :)

I also like the idea of a day trip.
