Picture Attire

To eliminate having to shop for clothes in such a short time, what about something simple: everyone wear khaki pants/short/capris. Then:
    Ladies - white shirt
    Men - navy blue shirt
Boys - striped shirts of any color that semi-coordinates?

As for shoes - white shoes or flip flops/sandals or something light colored? Just my thoughts.

Location: Mill Ave bridge area.

Any objections?

  1. Now are guys wearing shirts, t-shirts, polo's, TANK TOPS?

  2. Well, I think that the family should look like this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8e/Army_Combat_Uniform.jpg. I can get them sent real quick too.

One other idea for additional locations might be around the zoo, botanical garden, or even the Papago Buttes. It might be nice to even have one that captures the sunset colors that seem to be unique to AZ.

  3. Sounds like magistrate is going to be the photographer! To do what you want with the sunset requires a lot more equipment than I have, good sir. If you could donate $400, we can make that picture happen!

I like desert digital camouflage, definitely need to "shoot" for that.

  4. I like the bridge idea.

I don't have khaki pants either. What about jeans and white or navy (or even add in some other shades of blue)shirts? Anyone can choose whichever color, with stripes or not and whatever style (vest okay). Colors will coordinate well enough but not be too matchy. I wore flip flops in the last family photos we did and I regret it. They don't look so good in pictures. But we don't need to match shoes. Just wear something that's not grungy tennis shoes.

  5. Everyone - if you don't have a pair of khakis in your vast wardrobe collection, you are doing it wrong. Even I have a pair, and my collection consists of 3 cargo shorts and a lot of TeamLAN t-shirts (more fail than most people). Jeans are more overdone than pictures at the Temple.

If we're spending so much on going out to eat, why can't we get everyone in a $10 pair of Marshall khakis?

    ReplyDelete
  6. ...because we were going to wear khakis so we wouldn't have to buy something. Plus, it is going to take some work for me to find some that I like.
Though I will, I will. I will take one for the cause.
Of course guys are going to have khakis. They're not exactly as common for women, Danny boy. Plus, if even danny has some, then what does that say about khakis after all? Jeans are more overdone? Because jeans are normal clothes, not a costume.

  7. Are khakis not that commonplace? If only a few people have them, then yes I say we go jeans and white button up shirt.

Who all would have to buy khakis? The Green's have all the things listed.

  8. "Jeans, don't jeans. khakis, don't khakis. You are too concerned with what is, and what will be." (quote taken from Kung Fu Panda).

So it got complicated, which it wasn't supposed to. Maybe those with jeans can wear a white shirt, (wife-beaters are NOT acceptable) and those with khakis can wear blue shirts? Shades of blue are fine. Shades of white are fine :) Whatever you have somewhere in this range will be great. Feel free to mix it up too. If you have jeans but no white shirt, wear blue. Or...whatever. Just come, and be happy!

  9. Since all semblance of coordination just went out the window, I'm wearing a Keyboard Cat t-shirt, board shorts, and hiking boots.

  10. Does everyone have black pants or white pants/capris?

  11. Can someone do an IP check on this "Anonymous" user? I think we've been compromised and someone is trying to get our credit card info.

  12. I have both black and white pants...in maternity sizes. Good thing they still fit! LOL The little guy has black pants, and BiG10 has black shorts or black dress pants. Are we going for dressy/formal now? Or is this still casual?

  13. If this gets changed one more time, I'm showing up naked.

  14. I googled "Boring family picture" and found this - http://www.boringfamily.info/files/page0_1.jpg

I say we use this as our template.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Then consider this a "daring" comment of change, one more time. Not formal...... but not too casual either. This picture will have to last for several years and we want it to look nice.

  16. By the way, what I need some help in cashing a $500,000.00 check from the Nigerian lottery. Big 10, I will split the proceeds with you .... 70% for you 30% for me if you will just let me deposit it into your bank account.

  17. "Just come, and be happy!"

I'd have to say orange. Orange makes me happy!

    ReplyDelete
  18. But what would orange be without yellow? Yellow gives life to all other colors.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What if everyone just dressed nice casual? Khakis or nice jeans or black pants and a blouse or polo or button-down shirt for the guys. Whatever colors you choose. Don't choose any color that's too bright like orange or yellow or lime green and everyone look fine. And Danny can wear (or not wear) whatever he chooses.

  20. Executive decision. We will skip family pictures and just enjoy our vacation and all of the activities that have been planned. Maybe we will try again later. Just take lots of snapshots.

  21. No room for humor in this family. Hrmph!

  22. Just checking to make sure twiz didn't ban me from replying on this blog.

Can you guys see me??? Am I marked as "Anonymous"?

  23. ...P.S., I am the awesomest!

  24. *BiG 10 has been banned from future posts*
*Anonymous has been banned from future posts for haxing Mom's account*

Executive Decision (revised): Family Pictures are still on. Come dressed in nice-casual attire. These are going to be the best Fam Damily pictures evar!! (seriously - we're still doing pictures. poopy pants and streakers are not allowed).

  26. I want my poopy pants!

  27. Let's wait a couple of weeks and not be rushed and then there will be more time for Shauna to shop for attire.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If we're waiting for a more convenient time, there is not going to be one. Family pictures = the most important event of this vacation. Plus, didn't it get 14 votes? :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Since when did this turn into a beauty contest? Shauna seriously needs more time to shop? Puuuulease. She's the last person who needs to shop for more close.

Everyone wants this as Marily said, so just grab what ya got, and show up showered, shaved, and smiling. Done.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ok, I think it's time for me to chime in and defend myself. Shauna does not have time to shop for HERSELF. What free time she has available these days is constantly booked for shopping appointments to help OTHERS buy particular outfits (i.e. Courtney and mission clothes, or "Anonymous" and R.S. Pres. appropriate attire).

That being said, I think variety in family pictures should be encouraged so I like this "Family Pictures are still on. Come dressed in nice-casual attire. These are going to be the best Fam Damily pictures evar!! " attitude! Let's be happy, have fun, not worry about matching to the t-(shirt) and make sure that everyone will be there with smiles on their faces, that's all that matters. Yay family!!!!

P.S. I'm thinking this will be a great theme for when C-Bizkit gets back:

  31. "Boldly going where no family has gone before..." HA HA HA.

Shauna's suggestions is totally doable, so let's go with it. I need a current family photo to show the Estonians! They'll be amazed at what a good looking bunch we are in our nice-casual attire and lovely smiles :D

Jeans or slacks? I have plenty of both :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. If you want "good looking bunch", better just bring a photograph of the grandkids. Us old farts just take away from their cuteness.
